I really do like all of the above, only with the rain falling like stair-rods and the sky as dark as a Winter's day, I think I'll give the coffee shop a miss and stay cosy indoors with the kettle being put on regularly.
Happily todays Booths freebie was two sachets of coffee ... it's as though they knew. 😀
I did do a bit of a top up shop while I was there. So that's another £12.53 spent this week ... and yes I gave in a bought a cute little squash. It can live on my shelf making me smile until Halloween and then it will be a pot of soup.
Then life would be perfect. 😄

If reading burned calories I’d be a size 6😂. Just back from a trip to an overheated, understocked, loud music supermarket ie. M and S simply food. The shelves are all rearranged and the place is teeming with Christmas food but very little ordinary sized portions of food. Back to online next week for the sake of my sanity! Catriona
ReplyDeleteI was shocked too that the Christmas stuff is already everywhere. We are barely mid-october. Preserving one's sanity is paramount.
DeleteI think we would all be proper Skinny Minnie's wouldn't we. :-)
DeleteI do like nice music while I shop, especially seasonal, but I really don't like LOUD music in supermarkets, you have to do so much mental arithmetic these days to get the best value for money, that with load music you just can't think straight ... thinking about it maybe that's the plan!!
Anon (please don't forget to add a name) - My grandson, who briefly worked in Home Bargains last year, put me straight about Christmas things appearing in the shops so early. He said they were told in training that it's because by October there are only two or three paydays for anyone that is paid monthly. So it sort of makes sense once you realise that.
DeleteMe too, if reading burned calories I'd be a size 6 too!!! LOL!!! I read a lot. I'm enjoying the Baldacci series( he has multiples of different characters). I'm also doing my annual re-reading of LOTR.
ReplyDeleteI had to think for a minute about that one ... I'm guessing Lord of the Rings? :-)
DeleteI love everything in the top meme too. I can't stand loud, busy, crazy places anymore. Today is our 53rd wedding anniversary and we went to a quiet pub restaurant together with our daughter & granddaughter for lunch. On the menu were 2 freshly cooked, piping hot meals for £15, so £30 for the 4 of us. The meal was relaxing and peaceful. Brilliant....
ReplyDeleteNow a little read of a good book to burn off those calories ;0)
If only.....

That's is a brilliant price for a lunch for four people, isn't it nice when you find a nice place like that to go to. Enjoy the read ... and the weight-loss. ;-)
DeleteI, too, wish that reading books/knitting/crocheting burned more calories! I like your little squash and those colorful vegetables you bought. :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist it, and for £1.60 it's a small price to pay for a Halloween decoration and a pot of soup for one. :-)
DeleteLife really does slow down when the weather changes from fall to winter. I am hoping for just a bit longer of a bit more responsible weather until the end of this month.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It almost slowed to a halt yesterday, the rain was torrential for hours, and most roads in and out of town were flooded as the drains couldn't cope, very irresponsible weather!! Today is completely different thank goodness.
DeleteThe mini squash is soooo cute. A colourful shop there, oozing nutritional goodness 😍
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
It is isn't it, I just couldn't resist. 😄
DeleteI don't mind a thunderstorm but its a no to rain from me! I'll take a pub over a coffee shop. xxx
ReplyDeleteRain is fine ... as long as I'm indoors, and yes, I guess a Wetherspoons is as good as a coffee shop for me too. :-)
DeleteI love the cute little squash 🎃 Our storms can be very severe hence I'm not a fan ⛈️
ReplyDeleteYes, there is a huge difference between ordinary thunderstorms that make you feel cosy to be indoors and severe storms where you fear for your property or your life.
