What I'm Currently Reading ...

Nope, I cannot for the life of me think of anything more luxurious!  💖

I'm currently reading this book, and it's everything that I want in a book.  Good writing, a subject that I know a little about, an autobiography with a little bit of timeline jumping ... and recipes.  Lots of lovely recipes.

Oh, and it has two of it's own built-in ribbon style book marks ... not many books have that these days!!

The food is so well described that I keep finding my self hungry and wanting to jump up and make something fresh and tasty.  I think my next read will have to be a diet book.  😄

What are you reading at the moment?

    1. I didn't realise that her husband had written any books, after a trip over to Amazon to read about them and read the reviews you can guess what I've done can't you ... :-)

  2. I'd have to convert the coffee to tea and add, in the winter, curling up in front of a log fire :-) Fiona x

  4. I love books with their own bookmarks. Currently re-reading The Children of the New Forest - which has been on my shelf since childhood. Something reminded me of it recently, so I've picked it up again. Aimed at younger readers, but a good story

    1. There's something very satisfying about a book with it's own bookmarks isn't there. :-)

The Children of the New Forest sounds really good, I don't think I ever read it as a child. I was only reading something recently about adults reaching a certain age and then going back to rereading the books of their childhoods, and enjoying them all over again. Perhaps it's that we go back to them with a greater knowledge of the meaning behind the occasional simplicity of the words.

  5. My son bought me The Farmers Wife for Christmas. Loved it, and the two ribbons were great to find your favourite recipes.

    1. I'm absolutely loving it, in fact I would put it at the top of the list of the best books that I've read up to now this year.

  7. I'm reading several at once, as usual. That way I pick up what I'm in the mood for. The 1619 Project, The Warmth of Another Sun, and No Fond Return of Love. The last I've read many times!

    1. I used to have at least two books on the go at once, but for the past few months I've been trying to limit myself to one at a time. It's working up to now, and I do find myself picking up my current book more often.

  8. Those books all sound very interesting, I doubt my library here in Canada carries any of them, I do not buy books. What am I reading "The Place Papers" by Tina Brown.

  9. I am re-reading the Albert Campion books by Margery Allingham with my daughter, who is doing the Summer of Mystery knitting challenge. I read the first few on the list, then went back to read them all.

    1. I had never heard of Albert Campion, another good detective series from the sound of it. It seems like Margery Allingham could give Agatha Christie a run for her money. :-)
