Christmas has arrived ... well my little tree is up anyway, and to my mind is looking perfect with it's minimal decorations which are all little treasures from Christmases past. 😃🎄
I have lots of little touches of Christmas around the living room and lots of twinkly lights to remember to turn on each afternoon as the daylight starts to leave us. It makes for cosy evenings and happy memories looking at the little mugs, robins and tiny knitted mittens on the tree.
No matter what the adverts on television and in magazines tell you, it doesn't take much to make Christmas special, just love, memories and a little bit of Christmas sparkle.
Sue xx 🎄
I'm going over to see Tam and Rosie next week, and picking up my tree whilst I'm there. I must venture up into the attic and bring the decorations down today too. Your little tree looks very pretty, and some happy decorative memories on it too.
ReplyDeleteOoh be careful up in that attic. Yes, it holds lots of precious memories from most of the places we have lived over the years.
DeleteSnap! with getting Christmas tree out and trimmed, yours looks very pretty
ReplyDeleteYours looks lovely, but like you say it needs a touch of red ... don't wait for next year add some now. :-)
DeleteYour tree looks very pretty and sparkly. We have yet to get ours out and decorate probably in the week coming. I like the "simple Christmas" message too, thank you. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that each and every year my Christmas decorations have been whittled down to just the special ones. But I do need to stop or I'll have a completely naked tree by the time I'm 70. ;-)
DeleteLove that little caravan parked to the side of your tree,xx
ReplyDeleteMinimal decorations here too, and I have decided this year that I am not putting the outside stuff on the balcony like I usually do - too much wind, to much rain and not enough enthusiasm 🤣
So I am calling it done and dedicating the entire weekend to my sewing machine seeing as we are forecast wind gusts of 60mph.
I picked the tiny caravan up a couple of years ago, it brings back memories both my couple of years of 'van life' and the 'cow-a-van' at Jointers. I've not even put my little wreath on the front door yet, it would be knocking away all day and night. Alan is driving up to Cumbria today, it'll be a windy journey.
DeleteHear, hear Sue. Simple is the keyword for us too this year. I've still to put my little tree up but I hope to do it today. I always love to see your Bridgwater pottery things :)

A simple Christmas is a much calmer one for me. The Bridgewater pottery and the little antique china one are my absolute favourites.
DeleteWe always do simple nowadays as daughter and husband go off to the heat-this year leaving on 19th December until 2nd January. We are happy with each other and don’t do any fuss-just normal food with a few extras like mince pies and fruit cake in moderation. Love your tree-such a burst of light during these dark days. Catriona
ReplyDeleteIt only takes a few little extra treats along with tasty homemade food to make things feel a bit special doesn't it. Oh gosh yes, I really needed to get the lights on the tree and the shelves, it's been so gloomy this past week.
DeleteSo very true.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
💖🎄xx
DeleteYour tree is lovely, Sue. We have our tree up, it just isn't decorated yet. That will be a job for today. X
ReplyDeleteI always think there's something very nice about having the tree, whether it be real or faux, naked for a while before you decorate it. 🎄
DeleteYour little Christmas tree looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you. 💖🎄
DeleteGorgeous Christmas tree ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think this is her third year. :-)
