This weeks shopping was from Aldi and included a couple of things that I needed and a few more 'Christmas bits and pieces'.
That Aldi peanut brittle is absolutely gorgeous ... I just hope I still have all my teeth after Christmas. 😁
My shopping included:
Salmon £7.49
Nut Brittle £1.99 each
Bread £1.05
Crackers 99p
Pastry 99p
Cabbage 75p
Broccoli £1.49
So I spent a total of £16.74
Although I am more than happy to make my own shortcrust pastry, these days if I want puff pastry I always buy it ready rolled, it makes life much more simple. It was nice to see it back at 99p, it had gone up in price over the last few months.
So if I am to stay under my budget for the month, and therefore the year, I have a total of £8.45 in cash left to spend, and £45 worth of Nectar points.
Guess where I will be shopping next week. 😄

I'm going to remember those rules, especially the last one :)
ReplyDeleteHaha ... possibly it's the most important one. 😄
DeleteYour are doing so well with your budget 👏 Great Christmas Rules 👍
ReplyDeleteIt's gone well this year. But I'm thinking of finishing this week and allowing myself the freedom to shop without a budget next week.
DeleteI laughed at the last Christmas rule. I hope your teeth survive. I have had two cracked teeth this past year! Old age is galloping along. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteGosh I'd hate to crack a tooth, perhaps I'll bash it with a rolling pin for ease of eating. 😬
DeleteThe first thing I thought when I saw your shopping was to hope that your teeth survive Christmas ! There’s a similar goodie made with sesame seeds but as I know have around 6 expensive replacement teeth, I don’t buy it any more. Catriona
ReplyDeleteOh I used to love those sesame bars, unfortunately I've developed a sensitivity to sesame seeds. They bring me out in hives. 🫤
DeleteBrilliant Christmas rules! Now the Nectar points come in useful, effectively FREE food! I've got £20 worth and I'm trying to decide if I should save them for a low spend January..........

That sounds like a good plan. I think whatever I buy will also be used to keep me stocked up in January. 😀
DeleteYour grocery prices sound so much better than ours! I have stopped buying readymade puff pastry because it costs so much. I like those Christmas rules. :)
ReplyDeleteI think paying 99p is so much better than all the flattening of butter and the rolling and chilling of pastry for an hour. I quite like making rough-puff or flaky pastry (although I haven't made it for a long time) but not full on puff pastry.
DeleteThe last of your Christmas rules made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteThat peanut brittle looks lovely but lethal! xxx
All the comments have me fearing for my teeth. 😬
DeleteAldi peanut brittle??! On my way now...🚘
ReplyDeleteI know ... I might have a stack of the stuff by Christmas. 😄
DeleteLove those rules!
ReplyDeleteMe too. 😄
