Books - Healthy Made Simple by Ella Mills

I finished reading my Madeleine Olivia book, Make It Vegan with just half an hour to spare before the postman knocked on my door with my Waterstones delivery.

I had pre-ordered this when it was first mentioned last year, I knew that I had to complete my Deliciously Ella collection.  ALL her books are so good and this promises to be perhaps the best and easiest of them all to use.

The promise of the book is that all the recipes:

Take less than 30 minutes to make

- Contain 10 ingredients or fewer

- Have no more than 5 steps

- Be healthy and packed with goodness

- Be delicious and flavourful

Obviously once I have read it from cover to cover I am going to have to try it out aren't I. 😀

It's currently on offer at £16.99 at Waterstones and Amazon.

If you already have it let me know what you think.

  1. I've heard of Deliciously Ella of course, but confess I've never really taken note of any of her recipes - I guess because I (rightly or wrongly) got the impression she was strictly vegan, which I'm not. But I've just had a quick look at her website and am impressed, so have added it to my favourites list for reading through properly later. Enjoy your new book xx

    1. All her recipes are super tasty and pretty easy to make, so this book should make them even easier. When she opened her first restaurant they also served salmon and chicken, as she wanted to be totally inclusive for people, especially as her husband isn't plant-based but she got so much negative press from it they stopped including them on the menu and went totally plant-based. I make quite a few of her dishes when we have visitors, and for the meat eaters serve a chicken breast or meaty sausages alongside the curry or whatever.
Also her ready made foods have pretty healthy ingredients, more so than many pre-prepared vegan sauces and foods and I always stock up when they are on offer at Waitrose and have some in my cupboards for lazy days.

  3. Now the simple word sounds good to me - looking forward immensely to hearing what you make of the book - it sounds like it may make it on to my wish list.

    1. I do love a nice simple, but tasty, recipe. Some recipes have so many ingredients it puts you off even thinking about making them.

    1. Yes, I did like the Make it Vegan book by Madeleine Olivia. I've not made anything from it yet as we've been away, but all the recipes seem straight forward and have ingredients that many of us will already have in our cupboards.
