Washing Symbols, Snow ... and Choccy Balls

It's a slow news day today, hence the washing symbol chart that really made me laugh yesterday when it popped up in my Facebook Memories.

I'm sat here with the heating having just come back on, it clicked on itself even though it's set at just 14 degrees so it must be chilly.  We had torrential rain, howling winds, flooding and snow yesterday ... so much for me thinking it's about time to unpack my Summer clothes.

How Alan and the builders are working in these temperatures at the bungalow I have no idea, but Alan comes home every afternoon and either heads straight back out to the gym to sit in the steam room and the hot tub, or he goes upstairs to fall asleep in a hot bath.

We called to Asda last weekend to pick up something that Alan needed, we don't have an Asda particularly close to us so it's somewhere we visit quite rarely.  They do have a brilliant selection of dairy-free chocolate goodies there, so I always enjoy a browse.  I was very lucky Alan decided that whatever I chose would be my 'Easter Egg'.

Now I just have to try and save them for nearer to Easter ... I  have to admit the Choccy Balls did not even last the day.  😁

    1. On the rare occasion that I have there have been some very strange instructions.

  3. Here in the South East we had four short spells of hail as well as a very cold wind and then sunshine in between. Weird weather. I bought my dairy free grand daughter a Moo free Easter egg.

    1. Oh I forgot to mention the hail didn't I, yes we had about three showers of hailstones too. Moo Free eggs are too tasty for words, I had to get something egg shaped, but I worked out I would get more chocolate for my (Alan's) money buying a couple of Vego bars ... now they are too delicious for their own good.

  4. I'm wearing my husband's new Christmas jumper; it's washable, but at 30, not 40. Fits me nicely now. The washing label is rather small and faint... I'm happy, I gave it to him for Christmas and felt a twinge of envy at the time. (He does the laundry so I'm in the clear )

    1. Love the jumper story, K! I wash almost everything at 30 these days. The chart is great, but I can't put it on my blog as it might offend some of my followers. I like the tennis balls ones. And French Clothes. (Don't think I possess any)

    2. Haha, brilliant jumper story Kirsten, it's a good job he does the laundry. :-)

    3. Angela: I wash everything at 30 degrees too, I did try 20 degrees for a few loads in a bid to 'save the planet' but my washing capsules didn't dissolve fully and came out stuck to the clothes, infuriating. No, perhaps best not to share if it will offend someone.

  5. Both our youngest grandchildren are dairy-free, so we often pop to Asda when passing to pick up bit for their visits, we have not found another shop with such good choices.

    1. They do have an amazing range don't they. Perhaps it's a good job that Asda is not to close to where we live. :-)

  6. Love the washing instructions poster, and I too would have scoffed the chocolate! It’s freezing again here today with massive hail stones and slushy snow. I’m now thinking about lunch to heat myself up. Catriona

  10. LOL, love the laundry symbol chart. Cold and snowy here and it does not look like spring planned on sticking around.

    God Bless.

  11. I generally ignore the symbols. Many of the dry clean clothes are washable, though I tend not to buy anything with dry clean these days.
    Enjoy that little chocolate haul!

    1. I definitely ignored these symbols. 😀 I wash all 'dry clean only' things these days.

  12. I love the laundry symbols sign - does anyone understand the reals ones? Not me. Choccy Balls sound intriguing!

    1. I used to know some of the real symbols, but these days everything gets chucked in the washing machine in a 30 degree wash.
