I'm currently eating my green courgettes at almost every meal, and in a twisted, colour infused way I was looking forward to some of my future meals containing some of their yellow cousins. I think the garden centre must have got confused when it labelled these two plants that I bought off them when my second sowing failed.
My 'yellow' courgettes are most definitely green!!
Are well ... greens are good for you. 💚
We had family visiting at the weekend and Alan's sister Alison mentioned that she had never seen the Eric Morecambe statue, although Paul who is a biker had been down to visit with his mates many years ago, so a quick ride up the road to Morecambe it was then!!
The boys larking about at Barton Grange ... definitely Cheeky Chimps on a Log!!
We had a good, very food filled and very chatty weekend, which was followed by me and Alan having to drive to Manchester for a meeting at Mum's care home yesterday. Now I have totally seized up and am good for absolutely nothing.
So ...
I'm planning a very slow and lazy week.
Blogging, then rest.
Instagramming then rest.
Television watching then rest.
Reading then rest. 😄
Sue xx
Right now I'm doing resting, then rest....💤💤💤
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds just perfect ... I think I'll join you. :-)
DeleteThat sounds like a perfect plan :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos...lol...
Angie
It really is. We had a lot of laughs. :-)
DeleteAfter hearing from my neighbour that he has been eating some of the glut of Courgettes he's grown RAW - I pulled a face. Later on though, when cutting one of them up for the freezer, I decided to try it and yes, edible, with a delicately fragrenced flavour.
ReplyDeleteI eat a lot of the very young courgettes raw in salads, it's funny it's something that you don't think to do for years isn't it, but then once you do it opens up so many more meal options.
DeleteReally great cheerful pics. Sorry you are now good for nothing but I bet you'd do it all again!
ReplyDeleteWendy (Wales)
Possibly 🤔
DeleteLove that quote. I find it so difficult!
ReplyDeleteIt's harder to do nothing than it is to do something isn't it. 😄
DeleteI could do with a good night’s rest as this clammy weather has knocked my sleep pattern awry. Catriona
ReplyDeleteIt's harder to sleep when it's sticky, hot isn't it. Luckily we only had two nights when it was like that. The benefits of living in the North West. 😀
DeleteSorry about the shoulder, I hope it unseizes soon. Glad you had a good time
ReplyDeletebeforehand. The photos made me smile.
It's Alan who has a bad shoulder not me. I live with chronic back pain and nerve impingements after the breaks a couple of years ago. We were only joking the other day, that if we could merge we would make one healthy human. 😄
DeleteI like your schedule for the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed I can fit it all in. 😄😂
DeleteYour plans sound just right! Pity about the not-yellow courgettes, but at least you have plenty regardless of what colour they are. I grate them raw along with carrots and cheese then mix with mayo for a nice sandwich filling.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds nice, I'll give that a try. Anything to keep on top of the impending glut. 😄
DeleteLovely, fun photos. Like the rest message after doing a bit of what you can. Prefer green courgettes myself anyway. We too have plenty at the moment and are having them with everything.
ReplyDeleteI literally ate them three times yesterday. 😄
DeleteSounds like a plan to me - get as much rest as you can. :)
ReplyDeleteI will. 😃 xx
DeleteI too love the quote, and it’s something I need to do. After two days of manic housework, today I’m shattered. Why do I do this, I’m retired for goodness sake…habit of a life time I suppose. Your posted quotes always seem to appear just at the right time for me…meant to be? Thanks Sue. June.
ReplyDeleteHappy to help with the quotes, obviously we are on the same wavelength if they are speaking to both of us. 😀
