Tomatoes, Tiles and an Actual Kitchen

The weekend got off to a really good start with some of the homegrown tomatoes providing a very tasty breakfast alongside a few chopped onions from the freezer.

Very simple. but at the same time very, very tasty.

Then we called round to the bungalow for me to do a quick video walkthrough for Alan's Renovation Records.  He's enjoying watching them all back, when he actually gets to realise just how much work he has managed to get through over the course of this year.  This video shows a real jump forwards in the shell of an old bungalow actually turning into our future home.

Then we called up to Morecambe, there was no seaside walk this week though as we were returning three boxes of tiles that we had over ordered.  At £30 for a box of two tiles it was a journey that was well worth doing, it will nearly pay for one of the five doors that we will be ordering this week. 😄

  3. Gosh, think of the money Alan has saved you by doing the work himself where he can. Great progress.

    1. Definitely, the cost of materials AND labour has shot up in the last few years. He's loving the progress he's made.

  4. Looks wonderful - is that the same kitchen you have in the annex?

    1. It is yes, exactly the same kitchen but on a bigger scale. I think I have shared photos of my current one quite a few times on this blog, or maybe on my last one in more detail. It's hard to get a full on photo as the kitchen/hallway is only six foot wide. Alan has always like it, so he didn't take any persuading to replicate it.

  8. The kitchen is looking fabulous. Are those tiles really as huge as they look?

    1. The floor tiles? Yes they are, a box of 2 weighs in at over 20kg.

    1. They are just standard UK worktop composition. Seemingly, after a quick Google: 'Laminate: Made from a chipboard or MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) core covered with a printed decorative paper layer and sealed with a tough plastic resin." They are good quality ones, so hopefully they will last.
