Valuation done on Wednesday 22nd, photos, video and 360 degree imaging done on 23rd, paperwork signed off on 24th and our first viewing on 25th.
It's been a bit of a whirlwind, and much faster than we were expecting.
Grab a coffee and then click here to see The actual agents details of our house.
I've added this extra link to Rightmove in case you need it.
Now we have to crack on with the bungalow so that we will actually have somewhere to live if things carry on at this pace.
Sue xx
Added - Saturday 3pm. I was just setting this post up for going live on Sunday ... and we have just had a full asking price offer from a family that needed the annexe for a very genuine reason, and we've accepted it!!
So our house will be off the market less than 24 hours after it went on.

Thats brilliant news! i hope all goes smoothly for you x from Julie
ReplyDeleteWe hope so too, but there was so much immediate interest if anything goes wrong with this, we should be fine to put it back on the market. 😀
DeleteCongratulations! That was fast! Maeve x
ReplyDeleteToo fast, we're shell-shocked. 😄
DeleteGoodness that was a quick sale. Hope it all goes well and you get bungalow finished in time
ReplyDeleteWe should be on-track. They know we won't complete until the end of October at the earliest. It fits in with their time frame. 🙂
DeleteYour stars were certainly aligned that day…..and as long as there’s no ‘subject to’ involved you could be doing the rounds of changing the address sooner than you think
ReplyDeleteWe can't move any sooner, and happily it all fits in with our buyers time frame.
DeleteAmazing result for you and Alan, it is a lovely house, onwards now ‘chop-chop’ to the bungalow, well done. Jan
ReplyDeleteAlan is already working flat out, I wouldn't dare say chop-chop. 😄
DeleteFabulous news, it's always lovely not to have to contemplate the disruption of lots of viewings. Fingers crossed for the rest of the process being smooth and quick. Couldn't use the link as it's Facebook and they haven't set their profile to allow everyone to view 🙄 Luckily, easy to find on good old Rightmove 😉.
ReplyDeleteI was quite looking forward to lots of viewings and feedback to be honest ... I feel a bit cheated. 😄
DeleteHas anyone else had trouble with the link?. Even my cousin who's not on Facebook has watched through it. 🤔
All I see for the Facebook link is a page that invites me to login to Facebook. Can't get past that.
DeleteA full price sale on day 1...can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteLess than 24 hours ... the estate agents are thrilled, they've earnt their fee and we did the only viewing ourselves. 😄
DeleteWonderful news and it will make two beautiful homes for another family. Catriona
ReplyDeleteThey are a lovely family too. ❤️
DeleteOur very first house, newly built, was number 11. That was 1970. Good luck with everything.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's nice to look back at all our former homes isn't it. 😀
DeleteYour home is absolutely beautiful and little wonder that it sold so quickly. Lucky family to have snapped it up. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for you :)
ReplyDeleteAngie
I thought it would be nice for all my readers to see it in it's entirety. You've all seen so many snippets of various areas, but not the whole thing since we bought it over five years ago.. 😀
DeleteI thought the 360 degree tour was really good at showing it well. 😀
It's definitely a beautiful home - no wonder it sold as quick as a flash! Congratulations & hope it goes OK.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, we've loved it here. Sadly though it's too big to be our forever home now that we no longer need the two offices in the house. ❤️
DeleteWonderful news and I am not surprised it sold so quickly it is a beautiful family home and annexe. Onward and upward.
ReplyDeleteYes, we always move forwards. I'm glad our new home is less than five minutes away though, we love this small town. 😀
DeleteAwesome news! It really is a beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we worked hard on it when we first bought it. 🙂
DeleteCongratulations. Like you we sold our house within 2 days, but it then took over 6 months to go through. Fortunately there were only 3 of us in the chain. BUT I'm never moving again. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt's the legal stuff that really slows everything down isn't it. 🫤
DeleteOh Sue your home is lovely - but I bet the bungalow will be even more so, not least as it is literally custom built!
ReplyDeleteI think the bungalow will just be a better version of what I have now, as it is having a larger version of my current kitchen and all our wooden furniture. The main difference will be very subtle, only Alan's room will be painted white, everywhere else is going to be a soft cream, something I much prefer. ❤️
DeleteSomeone is going to be very happy in such a lovely house.
ReplyDeleteI hope so. 😀
DeleteWow! Congrats on the offer and hope the sale goes smoothly! I gotta say, £285K for that house seems like a great deal, from my London-centric perspective. You couldn't buy a studio apartment here for that kind of money.
ReplyDeleteThe price differences are crazy aren't they. If this was further up north where my son lives it would be £100k cheaper!!
DeleteWow, that's awesome that you had such a fast offer but I am not surprised - all looks to be a very nice house and a great buy for the new owners. I was tempted over here in California to put in an offer LOL - Essdee
ReplyDeleteHaha, that would be a bit of commute. 😄
DeleteWow, and I thought the market had slowed down too. Hope it all goes through smoothly for you. You will soon be in your forever home now :)
ReplyDeleteThe current state of the market in our town is very fast at the moment.
DeleteAnother Londoner pitching in with surprise at that amazing price
ReplyDeleteHope the sale goes well
Miriam
It's an amazingly different housing market in and around London isn't it.
DeleteCongratulations! Our last home sold the same afternoon as the signboard went up and for full price. The buyer's Mum lived up the road and as soon as she saw the sign, she called him and he made the offer. Turned out he'd wanted to buy it when we did but he didn't have his financing arranged.
ReplyDeleteThat founds like serendipity for him. 🙂
DeleteAll I can say is wow. Your home is beautifully kept and maintained so not really surprised, but that was quick. Janice x
ReplyDeleteIt's not usually 'quite' that tidy ... but we do our best. 😄
DeleteWow. So happy for you both.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Sadly, they have just pulled out, but we have someone else viewing today. Seemingly there is a queue of folk. 😄
DeleteThat was quick! Lovely home, I hope the new owners love it.
ReplyDeleteThey fell on love with it, then found out that they couldn't build a garage!!
DeleteCongratulations! You have such good taste, everything so lovely. Lucky purchasers. Do you want to pop over to Australia and make mine look so nice 😂😂 JennyP
ReplyDeleteIt all looks lovely. Congrats on such a speedy sale.
ReplyDeleteADDED 10.30am Monday - The buyers have just pulled out, seemingly they wanted to add a garage and have found out that they can't. It's funny because the way to visit Mum yesterday we were both saying that this would probably happen. Onwards and upwards. 😄
