2012 - The year we moved into his house.
Heartbreakingly, Ginger our gorgeous ginger boy, died in Alan's arms on Saturday night. From the first day we met him when we rented the bungalow that was on our first smallholding in Berkshire, when his original owners went to work abroad right until this weekend he has been in our lives and our hearts.
The shy boy who came quickly out of his shell, loving being in the company of other cats, dogs, chickens and sheep. He walked with the dogs through our various fields and woodlands, prowled through Chicken World, avoiding only the geese ... who he really did not understand.
With his first ever health worries earlier this year, he even excelled at the vets, making them all smile while he purred his way through blood tests and examinations. He was a truly special cat.
His life with us in photos.

He looks as though he was very loveable and much loved.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read this. At least he died at home, where he was so loved. The photos are a fitting tribute to him.
ReplyDeleteBless him he was such a special boy. We lost our 20 year old cat last year. She was a wonderful puss too. Thinking of you both. Sue H
ReplyDeleteYou will miss Ginger but do feel content that you gave him the best life. And, in my experience, cats hate moving house so he has managed to miss the transfer to the bungalow. Marty
ReplyDeleteWeirdly, Ginger had no problem at all moving house. He lived in 4 different homes with us, and came on holiday twice. As long as we were there he was happy. ❤️
DeleteSo sorry to hear. Well done, beautiful Ginger. You were indeed a Very Good Boy
ReplyDeleteVery sad to hear this but what joy he bought you and you gave him a wonderful life in return. Maeve xxx

Sue, so sorry to read this, they leave a big hole in one’s lives, we lost Harry our beautiful ginger in May and your Ginger always looked so much like Harry. Ginger had a wonderful life with you and Alan and Mavis and Sukie, sending lots of hugs, Margaret
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about Ginger. Such lovely memory photos, he obviously had a happy life with his friends.
ReplyDeleteSo sad and sorry for your loss of Ginger, I believe that cats lead you to your new home and then leave you when that task is done, be happy in his memory and the bungalow. Jan x
