After pegging out the first bit of washing, I took time to look at the garden. It's a bit rag taggle at the moment. Nothing perfect or Instagram worthy, but then it doesn't need to be.
We have enough vegetables to add to our meals, there are so many Spring Onions in this little bed, a few Romaine lettuces, some chives and some thyme. Everything else went to seed during the hot dry spell and while we were away.
We have two cucumbers that are crying out to be picked, and two of the courgette plants are finally starting to produce sweet little courgettes,
A little Aldi purchase that is waiting to go into the raised bed to fill a gap.
The water for the birds ... and Ginger ... is so clear after Alan spent half a day pressure washing everything that you can't even tell it's there. 😊
Well the machine has finished so it's time to fill up the washing line, have my second breakfast and then we will be hitting the road to go and visit Mum.

I could actually feel the peace and rhythm of your cool Sunday morning. I have a thing about clothes on a clothes line. Love it and that aroma as the sun heats up the wet fabrics. I hope your Sunday was a good one for you, as I'm just now enjoying my Sunday morning.

DeleteIt is deliciously warm here too - quite still compared to a breeze earlier in the week but such a treat not to be rushing around before it starts raining again.

DeleteI'm glad you had a deliciously cool morning and were able to get your laundry washed and dried. My daughter washed my bedsheets on Saturday and remade my bed for me with the newly washed sheets. Love sleeping on fresh sheets. I'm washing the blankets and quilts today so I can put them away for the summer. It's 88F(31C) over here, which is quite comfortable for me with the fan on. :)

DeleteStill warm here so ai did two sewing jobs for my daughter-hand repairing an outdoor cushion and then recovering the top of her blanket box. Also did all the ironing which was a very hot job.Hope you have had a good journey and back to see your Mum.Catriona

DeleteVery warm here so unable to get out and clear more of the weeds. Still I did get to dehydrate herbs and make tomato sauce so all is well in my little part of the world.

I'm doing very sporadic little bits of gardening, it's too hot to stay out for very long. I've just had a thought ... I bet herbs would dehydrate really well on a metal tray outside in the sunshine at the moment, I might try it with my chives. 😀
DeleteCardigan weather in the mornings.... and 'ooof, it's hot' in the afternoons. I love seeing washing on the line, it always lifts my heart. But I'm not in charge of laundry any more, and husband prefers to hang it on a rack upstairs. I can enjoy the picture of yours instead!
ReplyDeleteIn some ways it's easier when it's indoors on a rack, I did that myself one day last week when Alan had filled the line up. It was still dry in a day. 😀

in the past it would have bothered me a lot because I like neat and tidy but I’m accepting things differently now……. and my life is easier that way 😉😀
