Let someone love you ...

Carl Holsøe - Woman near the Dinner Table, 1900.

"Let someone love you just the way you are .... as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are.

To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room."

Marc Hack

It might be easier said than done, but it's something to aim for for sure. 💗

  5. You have hit a nerve. I was unloved as a child, as was my sister. Now I see us wrapping our children and grandchildren in unconditional love, believe me they have tested us at times yet we carry on and see them steady and turn a corner and the sun comes out again. I do wonder how different our paths might have been if we had known love like that. Neither of us thinks in terms of revenge but we have adapted the saying -living well is the best revenge- to loving well etc. I never take love for granted but in low moments I still struggle with feeling loveable.

    1. You've broken what could have been a chain of sad childhoods, well done. ❤️
