Tired Boys and Free Coffees

It's been a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, the highlight of which was a visit from my grandson and his fiancée who have a small tourer caravan on a nearby farm.  It was their first visit to it this year and for this time they had two little boys with them.  Our newest great-grandson Marley and his big brother Finley who himself is only twenty months old.

Alan had a great time playing on the patio in the lovely sunshine that we had on Sunday, and I enjoyed great-nana cuddles with the youngest member of our family, who is now almost three weeks old.

Ellie shared a photo of an exhausted Finley fast asleep at the caravan as soon as they got back, and I was tempted to send her a photo because when I went into Alan's living room to show him ... he was fast asleep too!!

We rounded the weekend off with breakfast out at a garden centre near Fleetwood, to claim this months free coffees.

We just had a small breakfast each, and as usual I came away with the unused items off our tray for use at home.  While we were there I remembered to buy a birthday card for my youngest grandson, it is remarkably hard to find a suitable card for a sixteen year old boy!!

I hope you have all had a good weekend and that for once the British weather has smiled on all of us, although it has gone decidedly chilly now, so much so that my central heating has just come on and it's set at 15 degrees.

  1. I'm not surprised that Alan fell asleep after playing! Young children always seem to have more energy than us don't they. The boys look lovely and I do envy your great-nana cuddles, he's so sweet :)
Yes, it's gone cold here too. We've just come back from a very cold and windy garden centre visit. Glad to be back too!

    1. Alan loves playing with little ones, but they wear him out a lot quicker these days. Thank goodness biggest brother Mason wasn't here too, Alan would have been comatose. 😄

  2. My relation who is a Great Grandma is called GiGi by the children, which I think sounds very stylish. I doubt I will see any great-grandchildren.

    1. That is lovely, I've always been Nana Sue to the grands and the great-grands. Not quite as stylish. 😀

    1. My son definitely got a move on, I was a Nana at 39 and then thanks to my eldest grandson, a Great-Nana at 58. Talk about making me feel my age!!

  10. Gosh, you did start grannying young! I was 72 before Rosie came along, but she is adorable and worth waiting for. Lovely to see your great grandsons and the weather was perfect for their caravan holiday.

    1. Oh gosh, they are ALWAYS worth waiting for ❤️ It’s not as though I had my eldest particularly young either, I was almost 21 and had been married for three years before he came along. 😀
