Alan hit the tomato ketchup jackpot today when we went to Booths for breakfast.
The guys that are rendering the outside of our bungalow couldn't come and do anymore today due to the heavy rain that we currently have. So Alan said he fancied a later more leisurely start to the day, and a bacon butty and a coffee in Booths while we had a catch up on all things renovation related, before he headed to the bungalow to continue stripping the wallpaper off the ceilings.
He ordered his usual bacon bun and was given two tomato ketchup sachets without asking, and as I have him so well trained he just accepted them without question.
The book I am currently reading, which also came from the book table a while ago.

I remember that I quite enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant when I read it, but now I can't recall the plot at all.

ReplyDelete👏 it takes considerably less time if you 'file' them as you store them, than it would do to dig through a messy box every time you want ketchup.
Exactly, it's just good time management and I don't have to keep putting my glasses on to check dates. 😄

ReplyDeleteThat's a good way round to do it. I like comparing films to books, it always seems to vary which is best. But it is very satisfying when it's equally good.

DeleteI loved Elinor Oliphant, I haven't read any of the others. I am reading our Book Group choice at the moment, The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom, pretty good so far.

DeleteI have read the Lisa Jewel book and have enjoyed all her books but like another comment above, I can't remember anything about it now.
ReplyDeleteMelody's house burns down when she's young, she loses her memory, but it all starts coming back in snippets after she's hypnotised during a stage act on a date. It's an easy read. 🙂

DeleteI'm about to read James Rebanks - The Place of Tides. I've enjoyed his other books and expect this one will be good too. I'm not reading much at the moment, very unusual for me. I'm going very slowly through a Val & Arbie - cosy mystery by Faith Martin at the moment. What I would call a 'tube book' in my long-ago commuting days. A book that you can pick up and put down repeatedly without struggling to pick up the thread of where you are in the story.

DeleteI’m reading Crossbones Yard by Kate Rhodes ( a well known but ‘new to me’ as in unread) Her first novel turned into a series (Alice Quentin forensic psychologist) it sort of shows in the writing yet is easy to read with a complicated plot that has me wondering just who the killer is.

DeleteEleanor Oliphant is a great book! I just finished The Corespondent and it was great! Finished Theo of Golden, which was amazing. And I'm a big fan of Lisa Jewell, but haven't heard of that one.
