The path to the shed is just about still passible, but the tomatoes, potatoes and courgette plant are putting in a bid to block the way.
With the sunshine filled days of April, closely followed by the heavy rains recently it's been good for the garden this year. Somehow though my green fingers feel as though they have been slipping, and nothing is coming as easy as it used to. Perhaps I don't care as much, which is a shame. But I just don't love the pottering around the garden as much as I used to, maybe I should read some of my gardening books, of which I still have quite a few, and see if that reignites anything.
If it doesn't I feel that more perennials will make it into the current courgette bed, giving me even less work to do next year, but still providing food for the bees and the lovely insects that call my garden home.

I haven't even checked on my courgette plant since the heavy rain and suspect what was left of it has been well and truly slugged! However, I have a neighbour who grows lots of veg so I know I will be a recipient when the courgette harvest begins! My runner beans are doing well though and I have LOTS of tomatoes on my plants in the greenhouse and cucumbers setting too.
ReplyDeleteI have one that is now being quite prolific, it was obviously waiting for the rains to come, and two courgettes that don't seem to be bothering at all. Leaves but no flowers or growth to speak of. I have already been eating some of the Tumbling Toms tomatoes from the hanging basket, they are gorgeous.
DeleteI never got round to courgettes this year, but excited by the little green pea-sized tomatoes which get bigger as the days go on.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely watching them all develop isn't it. :-)
DeleteBeautiful garden!
ReplyDeleteThank you. xx
DeleteIt is serene. Even If you don't garden much anymore you can still find peace out there.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, I think it's the perfect size for me now ... Alan keeps talking about buying somewhere with at least 3 acres again, I don't think so!!

DeleteWhat gorgeous colours on the lupins. I think I need to add some to may garden next year.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
They are lovely colours aren't they, I took a long time to chose the ones I wanted. Sadly the greenfly are loving them this year, I need some Ladybirds to come and help me get them under control.
