Sheds, Pots, Bags and Boxes

Firstly, can I say a great big Thank You to all those of you who went on over to my new Instagram page yesterday and clicked like on so many of the photos and also joined me by clicking on the Follow button.

I shared this photo of my little potting shed as one of the first images, and last night when I was looking at the photos that I have shared on there up to now, I realised I don't really 'see' the shed as it is now, while I am using it on a day to day basis.

So I went out this morning and took a photo of it ... as it is now.

It looks pretty much the same.

The fake flowers and ivy have been faded and re-coloured by the late afternoon sunshine that hits this little productive corner.  The Potting Shed sign is now propped up inside the window instead of hanging on the door, that was down to a windy night and a lot of knocking as it swung in the wind at 4am.  I'll get around to gluing it onto the door one day ... it's only been waiting about two years!

The fairy lights are still strung from Christmas, we left them up as it was easier for the dogs to see what they were doing late at night, old dogs, old eyes made for a few slips until the garden was illuminated.  We've not been able to either switch the lights on or take them down since we lost Mavis. ðŸ˜Ē

But all in all it's still pretty similar and has weathered well in it's almost four years of being in this little corner.  Perhaps it's not quite so perfectly Instagrammable, as the photo that I used as for inspiration for it's building was, but I have an inkling my photos will be a lot more normal and less staged than some I have seen recently.

And real life can be truly beautiful.

I can guarantee you it does not look like this inside now!!

Just starting to grow on the corner are my two black buckets of potatoes and Alan's Aldi bag of potatoes that he added to the collection.

Another image that I shared on Instagram the other day, my newly newly compost filled and lettuce seed sown crate.  I spotted it in the skip at Mum's care home and Alan managed to reach it for me.

I do love a good crate or wooden box and I have my fingers crossed that this one is soon bursting with salady goodness.

  1. What a sweet shed. Mine's a sentry box style shed so no room for me in there!

    1. They are such useful little sheds though aren't they, holding everything that you need in the garden. It must force you to be tidy as well. 😀

  4. Your shed is very pretty. I have a very old rusty aluminum shed behind the garage. Hope your garden grows well for you.

    1. A shed's a shed though isn't it, it's always useful to have some outside storage space. We just need a little bit of rain to water the garden. 🌞🌞🌞
