Let It Be

Art by Sophia Love Storey

Let it be.
Right here, right now.
The breath rises, the breath falls,
and nothing more is needed.

Let it be.
The world moves, the clouds drift,
the sun warms, the rain falls,
all is unfolding as it will.

Let it be.
No grasping, no pushing, no wishing it different.
Just this moment, exactly as it is.

Let it be.
Hear the silence between sounds,
feel the space between thoughts,
rest in the gentle pulse of now.

Let it be.
And in letting go of all else,
find the tender hush of now,
a cradle for the weary heart,
soft, open, and enough.

  4. If only we could learn to let things be and stop interfering and improving and developing.

  6. That poem embodies the meditation we refer to as the breathing meditation - just focusing on our breathing (not trying to regulate it, but, just being aware of it) to the exclusion of all other thoughts and sensations. Just being. In the present. Thank you for sharing it.

  9. Hear, hear! One day I'll master a single plait, I've lost the will to live when I'm halfway through plaiting mine! x

    1. Out of all of us here you are the one that could manage this style, although it wouldn't be this glorious grey/white. You need to have a word with 'Lord Jon' and get him plaiting for you. :-)

  10. I agree with the hair envy. I was never allowed long hair when I was young and it's much too late now!
    Another beautiful picture and poem.
