After a week of working hard at the bungalow, mostly on his own, Alan needed a break and some nice fresh air. So with the temperatures going down nicely, and a weekend virtually to ourselves we headed off for breakfast in Morecambe last Saturday.
And that was just what we did, had breakfast in one of our favourite cafés, Ralphy's and then went for a circular walk on the prom.
We stopped to read the billboard, telling us about the coming Eden Project North.
It's been promised for so long, and was stuck in the planning stages for years. Alan was hoping that they would have broken ground on the development and there would be something to see. Unfortunately, there was no sign of anything happening yet, although it had been reported on social media that they were starting in June.
It will be very good for the regeneration of the town and it's tourist trade when it finally happens.
We bench-hopped along the prom and stopped for a while to look out to sea, it was such a beautifully clear day and we were playing 'spot the Cumbrian town' on the opposite side of the bay.
Sometimes you just need a little seaside break to clear your head and re-invigorate yourself, ready for some more hard work the following week.

What a lovely morning. Bench-hopping - I'm adding that word to my vocabulary!
ReplyDeleteIt's what we have to do, as I can't walk for too long without a rest these days. Happily we both love people watching. 🙂
DeleteA lovely break from allback breaking labour on the house. And it will be wonderful to have an EP in Morecambe too. I learned so much when i visited the Cornwall site
ReplyDeleteHappily his back is fine, it's his knees that are suffering. He's on his second pair of knee protectors already. 🫤 The Cornwall site is amazing isn't it. ❤️
DeleteSorry, that was me, blogger made me anonymous again!
DeleteThanks Angela, Blogger is being a bit of a pain recently isn't it. :-(
DeleteThat looks like my kind of trip to the seaside and the weather looks perfect for a stroll.Catriona

It was exactly what we needed. xx
DeleteThat looks like a lovely place to visit. Thank you for the video. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a bit run down in Morecambe recently, but it's just starting to pick itself up again thanks to the promise of the Eden North Project. We do love it there, it's so much less commercialised than Blackpool.
DeleteLooks like a wonderful time. 😊 Thank you for sharing. Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteWe do enjoy our little mornings out. It's so completely different here from Montreal isn't it, we almost relocated to Canada with Alan's job a few years back so I would have found out for myself. :-)
DeleteA bit of sea air does a world of good. X
ReplyDeleteIt really does, and it blows the hay-fever away for a while. :-)
DeleteA beautiful respite. Thanks for taking us along.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist a little bit of filming. :-)
